Girls Inc. of San Antonio Programs
Our programs are:
Girl-Centered: Available to girls 6-18 years of age, our programs create a space that honors, inspires, and supports girls. Everyday programs are and encourage girls to take risks and master physical, mental and emotional challenges. Girls learn about economic literacy, math, science, technology, health, fitness, sexuality, self-esteem, and safety. No matter what age, girls learn the value and the fun of sharing experiences in an all-girl environment, with caring, trained adults to serve as mentors and models. All activities are designed with girls in mind to spark their interests, address their concerns, build their skills and explore the world around them.
Community Focused: Girls Inc. of San Antonio shapes our programs around the specific needs, interests, and schedules of each community we serve. Some of our programs are offered in day-long sessions, others as 2-4 session monthly workshops of 2-4 sessions, and still others in a 10-week cycle.

Age-Appropriate: Our programs are created with a continuum of services in mind. As girls’ interests, needs, and abilities change with age, our programs change with them to help them develop from children into strong young adults. Focused on prevention, leadership and education, Girls Inc. programs are proven to make a difference in girls’ lives.
Intentional: All of our programs are clearly focused on girls’ needs with the intent of making a difference in their lives.
Compensatory: All of our programs compensate for gender discrimination and help enable girls to overcome barriers to reach their full potential.
Girls Inc. National Identity Programs – All of our programs have been developed by the Girls Inc. National Resource Center, the country’s largest and most comprehensive research center on girls; all have been tested nationally to confirm their impact; and all are conducted in girls-only spaces by facilitators who are trained to understand girls’ needs.
